The blade keeps plunging,
sinking deeper into my back.
My instincts are right,
the sting of betrayal is nigh.
When did I venture into the lion’s den?

What a great moral to a great poem.
Thank you so much 🙂
For a short poem it feels like it has a deep meaning. I like how you’ve used the lion and the lamb it shows the strong and weak/ evil and good.
Thank you 🙂 Sadly it’s coming from life events … the realisation that someone is taking me for a fool, but rather than being led like a lamb to slaughter I have woken up to what’s going on 🙂
